Recognizing the untapped potential of unstructured data across financial Services, Orbit Financial Technology has been focussed on harnessing this power since 2015. We were aware of the complexity, significant manual effort and costs associated with this task, so we set out with a straightforward aim - to help organisations master unstructured data by harnessing AI and providing instant access to a depth of unique and reliable alternative data sets.
The core goal was to build connectors with global exchanges as well as other sources of official company filings, news, transcripts and official company documents. From there, we focused on highly accurate data extraction and processing, to turn these millions of unstructured documents into semi-structured data sets.
Today, Orbit’s scalable solution currently processes over 65 million documents per year for our clients, across 15 languages and 35+ exchanges, producing unprecedented information to solve unprecedented data challenges in financial services. Orbit’s 45+ AI models, can meet any number of use cases, and 850+ automated data validations have been developed to ensure our AI models accurately extract, tag and store data.
Late 2022 proved to be a turning point for Orbit with the rise of Large Language Models (LLMs - such as ChatGPT) and their ability to reveal the value of unstructured data. Orbit’s
accumulated experience and technology has allowed us to meet an ever evolving set of financial
services use cases as well as transform the way service providers and data vendors, collect,
validate and disseminate data to their clients.
Based in both London and China, Orbit is just under ten years in the making and poised for
continued growth as the need for unstructured content and AI infrastructure continue to be key
priorities for the industry.
